Aussie Trip - 2007/01/14 - Meeting Gareth's Bird

Today was the first day of the main event. There are so many entrants day 1 has been split into 2 flights. I am in flight 2 so all I have to do is watch the dancing girls and hear some chat from various poker celebs on the podium.

There is a Full Tilt poster signing session and at last it looks like I am going to meet Shannon. However by the time I get to the end of the line she has disappeared. I manage to get Howard "the professor" Ledehrer to sign my poster to the Balham Cowboy, which bemuses him somewhat. Mr Matasow is just as noisy in the flesh but the highlight is, of course, Gareth's bird Clonie Gowan.
I was rather confused because I was expecting a blond, but instead she was sporting a black bob. I asked her if she remembered playing with a mad Welshman in Vegas ealier this year, to which she replied that she was going to Wales in 3 weeks time.
Gareth - you sly old dog - you've lured her to Colwyn Bay...
I gave her a knowing wink and slipped away.

The play did not finish until 1.30 am but we will be starting earlier, so hopefully will only be until midnight for me.
